Unity Percussion started a GoFundMe Account to help with raising funds towards our inaugural season. Unity percussion is an indoor percussion ensemble that will be making its first appearance in both the WGI (Winter Guard International) Independent A division and also FFCC (Florida Federation of Color Guards Circuit) Independent A division. More information about the sport of indoor drumline can be found on WGI's website. Unity Percussion will be directed by Jeremy Lee who has had a very strong presence locally and all over the state of Florida.
With the 2016 season being Unity Percussion's inaugural season we are in need of funds for equipment, for covering the fees incurred by joining organizations like WGI and FFCC, and to pay for other things like the music and drill for the show we will be performing! Unity Percussion will not only be traveling all over the state of Florida to various FFCC sanctioned events, but also to many WGI regional events including Orlando regional, Charlotte, North Carolina and also to WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. As you can see there are many funds to be incurred when starting an indoor drumline group and every penny that can be donated helps tremendously!
What is GoFundMe?
GoFundMe allows users to create their own website to describe what they are raising money for. During this process, members can describe their fundraising cause, the amount they hope to raise, and upload photos or video. Once the website is created, GoFundMe allows users to share their project with people through integrated social network links (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and email. People can then donate to a user’s cause through the website and track the progress of their funding. Those who donate can also leave comments on the website in support of the project. GoFundMe generates revenue by automatically deducting an 8% fee from each donation users receive. If the user receives no donations, then no charge is made.
